The original TKO® required separate models for right and left hands, as well as additional sizes to accommodate larger and smaller hands for specific applications. This led to increased SKUs and added complexity in inventory management. Over the years, we have received feedback from customers expressing interest in a hand-based option, which sometimes influenced their decision when considering the TKO® as their go-to solution for metacarpal fractures.
The Innovation Team at Hely & Weber rose to the challenge and we are excited to unveil our entirely universal design: The TKO® 2.0. This patented orthosis is truly ambidextrous, accommodating both left and right hands, and effectively scales to fit both small and large hands—dramatically reducing SKUs and simplifying inventory management. Furthermore, the TKO® 2.0 boasts a unique 'break-away' stay and carcass, facilitating a seamless step-down transition from a forearm-based brace to a hand-based configuration. This adaptability ensures targeted support and improved functionality across a range of hand and finger injuries.
